A Brazilian publisher based in Montreal

Desde a publicação da sua primeira edição novembro de 2011, a revista Aquarela Magazine ocupa um lugar de destaque na comunidade brasileira no Quebec. Primeira revista bilíngue português e francês do Canadá voltada à temática comunitária brasileira. Visite a página da revista clicando aqui.

Em agosto de 2020 foi fundada a Publications Aquarela Magazine Inc, uma editora independente especializada em títulos relacionados à cultura brasileira, cuja missão é o de promover a paixão e o prazer da leitura.

Em dezembro de 2020 foi lançado o primeiro livro para colorir e escrever, Aquarelinha- Volume 1, voltado às crianças de 5 à 9 anos de idade.

Em outubro de 2022 lançamos a coleção Chantal & Babaloo, voltado à crianças de 4 à oito anos de idade com cinco volumes: quatro volumes com a história e um volume com desenhos em preto e branco para colorir.

The positive and negative sides of living in Quebec

With the aim of promoting talented young people from the Brazilian community in Quebec, Publications Aquarela Magazine is launching an unprecedented campaign: a scholarship for university students worth one thousand Canadian dollars. To participate, you must submit a text related to the theme of Brazil and Quebec. The best text will be published in issue number 14 of Aquarela Magazine, to be published in June 2025, and the author of this text will be the winner of the scholarship.


At the end of this text, there is a link to the registration form for the selection process of the best text written in the Portuguese language. Please read the rules below carefully before answering the questions on the form.


You selection criteria The best texts are as follows:

  • Brazilians born or descendants of Brazilians;
  • Legal status in Quebec;
  • Letter of acceptance from a higher education institution in Quebec;
  • Submission of a text, dissertative or narrative, on the following topic: Brazil and Quebec.


The text must be Brazil and Quebec, and may be discursive or narrative. We do not accept poetry. The text must have a title and must contain a minimum of two thousand (2,000) and a maximum of three thousand and three hundred (3,300) characters, including spaces, and must be written in Portuguese. We accept texts written in French only if they are accompanied by a text in Portuguese. Only texts in Portuguese will be evaluated. The French version may be used in the publication of the winning text in the selection process for this Scholarship. Submitting the text in both languages is not mandatory and does not change the evaluation of the texts. The members of the jury will only receive the Portuguese version.


We only accept one application per candidate. If we receive two texts sent by the same person, we will only consider the first application received.


Submit a Letter of Acceptance to a university course, including certificate, diploma, bachelor's, master's, MBA and doctorate, and excluding professional development courses or Executive MBA. This Letter must have been issued in 2024 by one of the following Quebec higher education institutions:

  • University of Montreal
  • McGill University
  • Concordia University
  • University of Sherbrooke
  • University of Laval
  • Bishop University
  • Université du Québec à Montréal
  • Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières
  • Université du Québec à Outaouais
  • Université du Québec à Rimouski

  • ENAP
  • INRS
  • Teluq


Legal residence in Quebec: The purpose is to determine whether the applicant is legally resident in the country. We accept proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, or a student or work visa that is valid for more than six months and has not expired.


Brazilian citizenship or ancestry: it is understood that the candidate is a native of Brazil or is the son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter, great-grandson or great-granddaughter of a Brazilian.


In the case of Brazilian citizens, the document must be a copy of the National Identity Card, or the Identity Card (RG) or the Brazilian passport (valid). We do not accept CPF, military discharge certificate, or any other document, with or without a photo.


In the case of descendants of Brazilians, copies of documents proving the parental relationship between the candidate and his/her parents, grandparents or great-grandparents must be sent. The candidate must present his/her national identity document and documents proving the parental relationship, maternal or paternal, between the candidate and his/her Brazilian relative. We ask that you send us a single document in PDF format containing copies of the documents, such as birth certificate, passport, etc. If it is not possible to send all the documents along with this form, please contact the editor-in-chief of Publications Aquarela Magazine Inc. by email.


IMPORTANT: You must present a document that proves your Brazilian citizenship or ancestry; otherwise, your application will not be accepted. We ask for an identity document with a photo to prove your identity, and in the case of descendants of Brazilians, you can submit more than one document to prove your relationship.


THE registration deadline The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2025. Applications are FREE. Texts will be evaluated by a jury or committee of Portuguese teachers who are fluent in the language and have professional experience in writing, editing, and translating academic, professional, or business texts, as well as literary texts written in Portuguese.


The announcement of the winning text The announcement will be made after contact between the editor-in-chief of Publications Aquarela Magazine, or his/her representative, and the author of the text chosen by the jury as the best among all the texts submitted. It is estimated that the announcement to the public will be made between the end of May and the beginning of June 2025 through posts on the Aquarela Magazine page or profile on Instagram and Facebook.
