Chambers of Commerce and Consulates

Câmaras de comércio e Consulados

The headquarters of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC), an entity linked to the Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation. Recently, the CCBC began to occupy a physical address in Montreal and usually brings some trade missions from Brazil every year. In Toronto, there is another chamber of commerce linked to Brazil, the Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce (known by its English acronym BCCC), more active in Ontario than in Quebec. A very important organization is the Chamber of Commerce du Montréal Métropolitain or, in Portuguese, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, a highly representative entity of the business world, and there are similar entities in the main cities of Quebec, such as Laval, Sherbrooke, Rive-sud, among other regions. It is worth visiting the websites of these chambers of commerce and looking for programs to encourage entrepreneurship, especially if you live or are going to set up your business in the area under the jurisdiction of one of these chambers.

The Consulate General of Brazil in Montreal has a sector dedicated to entrepreneurs and people in the business sector, SeCom or Secretariat of Commerce, which offers assistance for Brazilian companies to access the Canadian market and vice versa. It also provides market statistics and assistance to trade missions from Brazil to Quebec, organizes fairs and workshops, and also promotes tourism and exports in Brazil.

Every two years, the SIAL trade fair takes place in Montreal, a trade event linked to the food sector, where the Brazilian Consulate organizes a pavilion. Many small entrepreneurs from this sector of the economy have already participated in this pavilion, including trade missions supported by the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC). Therefore, for those who work in Foreign Trade, it is essential to follow the activities of SeCom and CCBC.
