 Para poder levar seu cão ou gato numa viagem internacional, você precisa solicitar um Certificado Veterinário Internacional (CVI) no Ministério da Agricultura, para comprovar a boa condição sanitária do animal ao sair do Brasil. Conte um período de mais de 30 dias para a análise e emissão do CVI, evitando assim surpresas na hora de embarcar com seu animal. No Portal de Serviços do Governo Federal você poderá realizar quase todos os procedimentos de forma eletrônica, inclusive a Emissão de Certificados Veterinários Internacionais Eletrônico - CVI online. 

Você deverá obter um Atestado de saúde do seu pet e também uma carteira de vacinação. Para filhotes com menos de 3 meses de idade a vacinação antirrábica é dispensada. Um médico veterinário particular deve declarar que a imunização antirrábica não foi efetuada devido à pouca idade. O Fiscal Federal Agropecuário do Canadá não exige sorologia, tratamento parasitário, tratamentos específicos ou exames clínicos, nem tampouco quarentena.
