Choreographer Raquel Bastazin invites our readers and friends to the show "I Love Quebrada", the newest production by the Brazilian dance school Levanta Poeira.
"I Love Quebrada" is a manifesto against inequality, racism and violence, vectors of oppression in contemporary Brazilian society. A sad reality that affects many communities around the world, but which will be told in this production from the perspective of the favelas of Brazil, whether in the poor neighborhoods on the outskirts, also known as slums, which are in fact the birthplace of samba, carnival and the rhythms that enchant the entire world.
The goal is to share this reality with the Quebec audience and thereby create a deep bond between the people, and tell the sad story of the favelas through the beauty of its poetry, musicality and dance. A mix of texts and choreography, the production features more than sixty artists, including comedians, musicians and fifty male and female dancers who take on the mission of transporting the Montreal audience to a favela in Brazil!
An unmissable show!
